POLAND - Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Adele Catherine Haske-Caban, 95, who passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, at her home.
Adele was born Nov. 7, 1914, in Chicago, the daughter of Andrew and Theresa Pacholski Howard.
She had lived in Spartanburg, S.C. for over 28 years, where she was a member of St.Paul the Apostle Church and its St. Theresa?s Guild.
She was an accomplished artist in many mediums including; quilting, painting with oils and water colors, and designing and making stained glass windows for churches. Adele also enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by her children, Mary Stortz of Spartanburg, Nancy Larry Bernier of Cherry Valley, Ill., Anthony Nancy Haske Jr. and Adele Pangilinan of Poland and Terese Phillip Caban of Columbia, SC.; stepchildren, Charles Sarah Ann Caban of Marietta, Ga., Clint Frannie Caban of Medfield, Mass. and Roy Diane Caban of Columbia; 30 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony J. Haske Sr.; her second husband, W. Henry Caban; and a son, Michael G. Haske.
Adele?s family would like thank Adele?s caregivers, Shirley Gartner and Tara Pangilinan for their loving and wonderful care over the past four years, and to Shelby, the best therapy dog ever.
The family would also like thank the staff and nurses at Hospice of the Valley for their guidance and compassionate care during Adele?s illness.
