Adeline Debartolo

November 9, 1914 — April 7, 2016

POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Adeline Marie DeBartolo, 101, who died Thursday morning, at Woodlands Assisted Living.

Adeline was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Youngstown to Santo and Filomena (DiBlasio) Pallotta.

She was a 1938 graduate of South High School and a lifelong resident of Youngstown.

Adeline was a stay-at-home mom and housewife by choice and took great pride in the home she made for her family. She loved nothing more than having holiday dinners at the home she loved. Adeline was never without Easter bread or sour cream cookies. She considered her lifelong calling to be a caring, devoted and proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Adeline married James T. DeBartolo on April 11, 1940, and they were very blessed with two children, Michael (Judy) DeBartolo of Elkhart, Ind. and Phyllis E. (Bat) LaPlante of Poland. She was also a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Adeline was a charter member of the Jr. Vivace Club and participated in many charitable causes. Her skill as a quilter and crocheter are evidenced by the blue ribbons won at the Canfield Fair in Best of Show, as well as Stan Hyett in Akron.

She is survived by her sister, Violet Pallotta of Boardman; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, "Jimmy"; three sisters, Carmel Stevens, Rose Pallotta and Dolly Reichard; and brother Albert Pallotta.

Visitation will take place Saturday from 10 to 10:55 a.m. at the Holy Family Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Woodlands Assisted Living Activity Fund.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
