Agnes White

April 25, 1915 — July 16, 2012

AUSTINTOWN - A prayer service will be held Friday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown with the Reverend Kenneth Miller officiating for Agnes Katherine White, who died unexpectedly Monday at her residence.

She was born April 25, 1915, in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph P. and Mary Novotny Kachurek, and was a lifelong area resident.

She will always be remembered and loved as the matriarch of the Kachurek family. An essay she w rote of her childhood was published in the Pig Iron Press"Young's Town." She was admired for her outgoing, independent and generous spirit.
Agnes was the oldest active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she was a Sunday greeter. She was a member of it's senior citizen organization, where she once served as president and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She previously served with the Easter Seals' Auxiliary.

She was employed at Hathaway Bakery for 24 years and was a member of Local 19 and 177 Baker's Union. She loved to bake/decorate and was known as the "Cake Lady" because of her cakes made for any occasion.

Her husband, Raymond C. White, whom she married July 20, 1934, died Aug. 11, 1992.

She leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories, her children, Beverly J. Magda of Youngstown, Gene R. White Juanita of Canfield, and Nancy L. Wilhelm of Austintown and her fiance, Maurice Clark.
A daughter, Judith R. Harrison, is deceased. She leaves her grandchildren, Patricia John Crofford, Frank Melanie Magda, Karen Ray Tyndall, Terese Gary Shaw, Katherine Damion Banaszak, Todd Christine White, Vernon Ann Wilhelm, Barbara Rex Bosley Ragusa, Thomas Wilhelm, and Douglas Lori Wilhelm; great-grandchildren Chelsea, Jessica, and Andrew Crofford, Anthony and Adam Banaszak, Autumn and Nicholas White, Matthew, Michael, Stephen, and Jessica Wilhelm, Jennifer Lindsay Ragusa, Thomas and Bridgette Wilhelm, and Anna and Jackson Wilhelm; five step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
She leaves three sisters, Helen Semeraro of Youngstown, Rita Johnston of Austintown, and Mary Lou William Hudak of Youngstown; one brother, Raymond Patricia Kachurek of Austintown; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Kachurek of Austintown.

Preceding her in death besides her parents, husband, and daughter, are an infant brother, Michael; a sister, Martha McClain; a brother, Joseph Kachurek; a daughter-in-law, Sandra White; and sons-in-law, Vernon Wilhelm and Frank Magda.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes in Austintown.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Easter Seals.
