YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Alberta M. Orlando, 87, who passed away early Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Alberta was born Oct. 21, 1922 in Youngstown, the daughter of John Albert and Alice Cox Walters.
Alberta worked in retail at Sears in the Southern Park Mall. Prior to Sears, she worked at W.T. Grants Co. Retail Store in downtown and then in the Boardman Plaza. Alberta was a member of the Sears Retiree's, St. Christine's Church and their Senior Citizens and Cornersburg Senior Citizens. She enjoyed card club with her lady friends.
Her husband, Joseph Orlando, whom she married July 29, 1950, passed away July 13, 1996.
Alberta leaves her daughter, Joanne Vincent Carnevale of Austintown; her son, Michael Karen Orlando of Berlin Center; four grandchildren, Cindy Zebosky, Vincent Carnevale, Gina Orlando and Anna Orlando; and two great-grandchildren, Allison and Zachary Zebosky.
Besides her parents and husband, Alberta was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Chall; and her brother, John Walters.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
