POLAND - Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Alex S. Miller, 83, who died Sunday afternoon at his home.
Alex was born Nov. 2, 1928, in Youngstown, the son of Andrew and Susan Phillipps Miller.
Alex was a 1946 graduate of Chaney High School and later served in the Army during he Korean War. He earned his Bachelors degree from Youngstown State University and his Masters from Carnegie Mellon University. He worked at Babcock-Wilcox Research as an engineer for over 36 years, before retiring in 1994.
His wife, the former Mary Ann Piskovich, whom he married in 1955, died Dec. 16, 2001.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia E. Miller and Allison David Coleman, both of Columbus; a son, Richard S. Nina Miller of Austintown; and a brother, Vincent Marge Miller of Toronto, Canada.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Andrew and Thomas Miller.
