Alice Getz

Bridgeville, PA - Services will be held at Noon on Friday at the Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church for Alice R. Getz, age 96, of Bridgeville, PA formerly of Himrod Ave. in Youngstown, who died Tuesday evening at her residence.

Mrs. Getz was born July 1, 1909 in Youngstown, a daughter of Philip and Florence Lauster Reed.

Mrs. Getz lived here until moving to Bridgeville in 1991. She was well over a 50 year member of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, where she served as organist for 29 years, the recording secretary for many years and also taught the Fidelis Class. Mrs. Getz was currently attending the Fawcett United Methodist Church of Bridgeville, where she occasionally played the organ for sunday services. She was also a 50 year member of the Miriam Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Her husband Robert Getz whom she married June 4, 1936 died Sept. 16, 1985.

She leaves a daughter Martha Glenn Simpson with whom she made her home; three grandchildren Robert and Philip Simpson and Amy Lunn; and five great grandsons Brian and John Simpson, Caleb, Nathan and Aaron Lunn.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters Elizabeth Reed and Mildred Williamson.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM to Noon Friday at the Church.
