Alma Poprocky

Services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mrs. Alma L. "Babe" Poprocky age 89 of Mercer, PA, formerly of Austintown who passed away Thursday morning at Sharon General Hospital. Alma was born September 5, 1918 in Stubenville, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Frances Bucy Miller. She moved to the Youngstown area in 1923 and graduated from Immaculate Conception School and Youngstown East High School. During the 1950's she had worked at the Lerner Shops and later at Fisher's in Austintown. She was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and had moved to Mercer, PA in 1973.
Her Husband Andrew P. Poprocky whom she married March 6, 1937, died February 26, 2007. She is survived by four sisters; Grace Warner of Mercer, PA, Sally Cummings and Johanna Welsh both of Youngstown, and Virginia Manion of Masury, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her step father James J. Welsh who raised her since her childhood after her fathers death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers Henry Miller and Jack and James Welsh and two sisters, Margaret Mary Welsh and Beulah Miller O'Brian.
