Poland . . . . Memorial Services will be held Saturday at 9:00 am at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel for Mr. Alvin J. Madar age 88 who died Wednesday afternoon at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, Columbiana.
Mr. Madar was born Sept. 13, 1918 in Akron a son of Joseph and Anna Bednar Madar.
He was a 1937 graduate of Boardman High School and moved to Tennessee in 1976 to manage the Metal Carbides Plant and moved back to this area to wok as a foreman at Metal Carbides Plant on Southern Blvd. He had worked for the company for 43 years retiring in 1983.
He leaves his wife the former Edith G. Carr whom he married June 12, 1943, a daughter Teresa A. Mark Leking of Springfield, Virginia, a son Dean A. Madar of Naples, Florida and two grandsons Adam Allison and Michael Leking.
He was preceded in death by a sister Rita Buehrle is deceased.
