BOARDMAN - A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Andrew Berroteran, 86, who died Monday at Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Family and friends may call for one hour prior to the service.
Andrew was born March 31, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of Migel and Andrea (Rembao) Berroteran.
He was a 1949 graduate of The Rayen School.
Andrew was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country in combat during the Korean War.
Andrew worked as a roller for US Steel and for the Mahoning County Engineers office for 10 years until moving to Phoenix, where he worked for Intertal Corp.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church and their Men's Club, and the Mahoning County Engineers golf league.
Andrew is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Luther, whom he married April 21, 1956; his son, Byron (Renea) Berroteran of Avon Lake; his granddaughter, Hailey Berroteran; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Michael and Joseph Berroteran; and sister Maria Daniels.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
