Andrew was a proud graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and held a master's degree in business from Youngstown State University. Following his masters degree he taught business classes part time at YSU.

He married his high school sweetheart, Debra, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2025.
