POLAND ? The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers for Mr. Andrew J. Kadvan Jr., 59, who died Saturday morning at his home.
He was born June 4, 1950 in Youngstown, a son of Andrew J. and Christine Rose Naples Kadvan Sr.
Andrew was a 1968 graduate of Struthers High School and a graduate of ATES. He was an electrician for Severstal in Warren, formerly WCI Steel. He was a member of the church, VFW Post No. 93, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 213; Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association. He was an avid Steeler's Fan but an even bigger fan when it came to cheering on his nephews at the friday night football games. Without a doubt his family was his greatest joy.
Andrew leaves his wife, the former Betty Ann Popovich whom he married Sept. 30, 1972; his mother, Christine Kadvan of Struthers; a daughter, Lisa Alan Clark of Poland; a son, Michael Lisa Kadvan of Poland; two sisters, Margaret ?Moggie? Thomas Bero of Poland and Tina Thomas Gilpin of Struthers; a brother, Gary Kadvan of Struthers; three grandchildren, Meghan, Christopher and Lauren; father-in-law, Henry Popovich of New Middletown; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Terry VanSuch, Doreen Robert Chance and Laurie Ken Goist; two brothers-in-law, Joe Gina Popo vich and Vincent Tisone; and nieces and nephews, Aaron Jennifer Bero, Mandi Dr. Douglas Musser, Joshua Bero, Ralph and Jason Gilpin, Ronnie and Sergio Galazia, Nichole Frey, Christopher Kadvan, Nick Mshar, Jillian VanSuch, Teri Jon Gorski, Lt. Robert Chance U.S. Air Force, Melissa Chance, Jason, Ryan and Brandon Goist and Nicholas and Matthew Popovich.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew J. Sr.; his sister, Marie Galazia Tisone; and mother-in-law, Ann Popovich.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
