BOARDMAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 10 a.m., at St. Dominic's Church, for Angeline M. Olin, 95, who died Sunday evening at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Angeline, affectionately known as "Angie," was born on Sept. 23, 1920, in Youngstown, daughter of Vincenzo and Nunziata (Tisone) DiSalvo.
She was a graduate of South High School in 1939.
She retired from Mahoning County Planning Commission in 1983, after 15 years of service as a secretary.
Angeline was a lifelong member of St. Dominic's Church, and was also a former member of their Holy Rosary Altar Society. She was also actively involved with the Knights of Columbus.
Angeline was the matriarch of her family. She loved to cook, dance, and listen to her favorite music. Lastly, she was most proud of her Italian heritage.
Her husband, Anthony J. Olin, whom she married on Feb. 10, 1945, died on Oct. 6, 2003.
Angeline is survived by her three children, Patty (Rich) Hughes of New Middletown, Michele Olin, with whom she resided, and Tony "Larry" (Phyllis) of Boardman; one sister, Rita Borsilli of Boardman; six grandchildren, Rick, Anthony, Nancy, Michael, Annette, and Angela; and six great-grandchildren, Domenic, Gia, Attilio, Ava, Audrina, and Vaughn.
Besides her parents and husband, Angeline was preceded in death by three brothers, Mike, Henry, and Tony DiSalvo.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 9 until 9:45 a.m. at the church.
The Olin family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all her caregivers, Kim, Dottie, Kelli, Shanate', Cathy, and Denise, who cared for their mother over the past eight years.
