AUSTINTOWN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held Monday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, for Angelo Bellino, 88, who died peacefully Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Angelo was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of Dominik and Maria (Sabedo) Bellino.
He began his career at William B. Pollock and General Fireproofing, eventually retiring from General Motors after 28 years.
Angelo was an active member of Mt. Carmel Church, and volunteered for the annual Mt. Carmel Festival. He enjoyed playing morra, listening to music in the park, dancing and trips to New York.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
His wife, the former Irene Kish, whom he married June 27, 1953, died Oct. 4, 2003.
Angelo is survived by his children, Tony (Christine) Bellino of Chattanooga, Tenn., Irene (Kevin) Deckant of Youngstown, and Steve (Julie) Bellino of Canfield; brother Michael Bellino of Austintown; six grandchildren, Isabella Bellino, Michelle Wells, Kevin (Alycia) Deckant, David Deckant, Craig (Jacqueline) Bellino and Ryan (Lisa) Bellino; nine great-grandchildren; and his companion for the last 12 years, Norma DiGiacomo, whom he resided with.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Salatta; and three brothers, James, Samuel and Anthony Bellino.
Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
