AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Angelo Fadell, 94, who died peacefully Tuesday morning at Canfield Place Nursing Home.
Angelo was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Campbell, the son of Ralph ad Susan (Julius) Fadell.
He attended Struthers High School.
Angelo was a veteran of the U.S. Army, who served his country in Italy during World War II. Upon his return home from war, he worked as an operator and in the chemistry lab at J&L Steel for 18 years. He later worked for General Motors as a paint controller for 17 years until his retirement in 1985.
Angelo was a member of St. Joseph Church, the United Auto Workers Local No. 1112 and Sons of Italy No. 2539.
He was an avid Youngstown State University football fan and enjoyed dancing, boating, and working around the house.
Angelo's wife, the former Ida Caicco, whom he married Feb. 25, 1946, died April 15, 1996.
He is survived by three sons, Ralph, Richard and Ronald Fadell, all of Youngstown; former daughter-in-law, Lynette Marshall of Canfield; two grandchildren, Adam (Carrie) Fadell and Stephanie (Chad) Thorne; and three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Noah, Lincoln and Ely.
Angelo was also preceded in death by his parents; son Gary Fadell; two sisters, Josephine Fadell and Lena Enyeart; and brother Dominic Fadell.
Family and friends may call Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to, Hospice of the Valley, 9180 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
