"Together Again"
CANFIELD - Prayers will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church for Angelo A. LaCivita Sr., 86, who passed away Thursday evening at Shepherd of the Valley.
Angelo was born June 17, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of the late Anthony and Rose (Scardina) LaCivita.
Angelo graduated from The Rayen School and attended the Dana School of Music.
He worked for the Mahoning County Engineers He was the leader of the Angelo LaCivita Orchestra for over 50 years. Angelo played with many performers who came to the Youngstown area, such as, Wayne Newton, Jerry Lewis, and Vaughn Monroe to name a few. He was also a longtime member of St. Michael Church.
His wife, the former Fran Hanni, whom he married July 21, 1951, passed away June 2, 2001.
Angelo leaves a daughter, Michelle (Gary) Palermo of Kent; a son, Anthony J. (Christine) LaCivita of New Castle, Pa.; three grandchildren, Anthony LaCivita Jr., Michael (Theresa) LaCivita, and Dante (Megan) LaCivita; five great-grandchildren, Madison, Michael, Payton, Gianna, and Zane; his sister, Anna Marie (Victor) Mauerman of Boardman; and daughter-in-law Nancy LaCivita.
Angelo was also preceded in death by a son, Pastor Angelo LaCivita Jr.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be held at Lake Park Cemetery.
