AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Ann E. Tobias, 90, who died peacefully, Sunday afternoon at Briarfield Manor Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her family.
Ann was born on May 30, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of Leland and Gladys (Westran) Younger.
She was a 1944 graduate of South High School and a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family.
Ann was a longtime member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She also served on the Board of Elections for 40 years. Ann loved to travel and go camping. She was very passionate about music and loved to play the piano.
Ann's husband, James E. Tobias, who she married May 29, 1948, passed away on Sept. 9, 2012.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Rudibaugh of Dublin and Nancy (Robert) Knight of Austintown; two sons, William Tobias of Richmond, Va. and Tom Tobias of Albany, N.Y.; brother Richard (Virginia) Younger of New Middletown; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Ann was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Simkins; and brother Charles Younger.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
