Ann Walker

BOARDMAN - Memorial services will be held Thursday, with Pastor Nathan Harris officiating, at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, for Mrs. Ann E. "Betty" Walker, 87, who died peacefully Saturday morning at Briarfield Manor.

She was born May 20, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Thomas and Nelle Runk Hazel.

Betty was a 1945 graduate of South High School and had attended the Boardman Baptist Church.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved to bake for them. Baking was her speciality and reading was her hobby.

Betty was married to David Walker, whom she married Oct. 21, 1950, and he died in August of 2012.

She leaves one daughter, Kathy (Bill) Anderson of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Bruce (Betty) Walker of Tampa, Fla. and Tim (Lynne) Walker of Boardman; six grandchildren, David (Tracy) Walker, Rebecca (Sean) Kilpatrick, Colin Anderson, Meg (Angus) Matheson, Ryan Walker and Kelsey Walker; and her fiancé, Nathan Harris.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Betty to the Boardman Baptist Building Fund.
