BOARDMAN - Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Church for Anna T. Bertrando age 91 of Salem formerly of Boardman who passed away early Sunday morning at Salem Community Hospital.
Anna was born August 2, 1915, in Girard, the daughter of Louis and Antonette Delberta Agresta.
Anna enjoyed baking and in the 1960s had worked for Hrnko Catering. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Charles Church where she was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, and for many years attended to the churches Altar linens. She was also one of the originators of the church's spaghetti dinners, and was a member of the Youngstown Democratic Ladies Association.
Her husband James Bertrando whom she married October 15, 1934 passed away December 4, 1961.
She leaves four daughters Mary C. Jack Manolio with whom she made her home in Salem, Sylvia Gerhard Holderer of Culver City, California, Margaret Ann Albert Menduni of Tallahassee, Florida, Palma Marie Yuki Kaneda of Billingham, Mass., a son James J. Debbie Bertrando of Struthers, nine grandchildren, James Stacey Manolio, Anthony Manolio, Annette Brian Delahunty, Monette Larry Becktold, Gerhard Kurt Holderer, Mario and Gina Menduni, Jimmy Bertrando, and Tom Bergagna, six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Danny, and Conor Delahunty, Alexis Manolio, Kristen and Kaitlin Manolio, and Dietrich Holderer. a sister in-law Ann Agresta of Naperville, Illinois, a brother-in-law, Dominic Cafaro of Columbus, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her step father, Sylvester Cumbo who raised her since childhood after her father passed away. Three sisters Mary Agresta, Margaret Agresta, and Helen Cafaro, and two brothers, Carl and Michael Agresta also preceded her in death.
