AUSTINTOWN ? Anna Marie Kane-Allen, 86, passed peacefully in her sleep at St. Elizabeth Health Center in the early morning of April 25, 2010. She passed from our loving embrace to the waiting arms of her husband, and son. In the darkness to the shining light of our Lords loving gaze.
Anna was born on July 31, 1923, in Lisbon to the late Thomas and Lenora Russell Kane. In 1925, she moved to the Youngstown area.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Allen Sr., they married on Oct. 15, 1942, and he died on Nov. 3, 1980; a son, Edward; two sisters, Katherine Gregory and Agnes Farragher; and three brothers, Thomas, James and Lawrence Kane.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Joseph Connor of Austintown, with whom she made her home; her son, David C. Allen Jr Catherine; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosemary Perry and Patricia Pawlik, both of Austintown.
She served her country?s effort in the second great world war as a sky crane operator. While conquering her fear of heights. Also, she was a member of St. Joseph Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society at church. She devoted many years to the Ladies of Charity at St. Elizabeth?s Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at St. Joseph Church, with calling hours one hour prior to the service.
