Anna Strabala

March 17, 1917 — January 12, 2007

POLAND - Services will be Monday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, followed by mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church for Anna V. Strabala age 89 who passed away Friday evening at her home.

Anna was born March 17, 1917, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Mulholland Wilson.

She had been a parochial school teacher for almost 30 years, teaching at St. Charles, St. Patrick, and Holy Family. She had received her bachelors degree from Youngstown State University, was named in Who's Who in American Teachers, and in 1974 and in 1981 was named teacher of the year by the Catholic Woman's Association. She enjoyed bowling and had served as the treasurer of her bowling league for over 30 years. She had been a charter member of Holy Family Church, attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and a former member of the Poland Knights of Columbus KC ettes.

Her husband Clinton P. Strabala whom she married July 14, 1941, died October 20, 1993.

She is survived by two sons Harry Strabala with whom she made her home, and Lawrence W. Strabala of Sharon, PA, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a sister Madeline Borts.

Friends may call Monday for 1/2 hour prior to services at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
