BOARDMAN - Prayers will begin Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road in Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Cathedral for Anthony Louis Cerimele, 80, who died Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Anthony was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Carmel D'Orazio Cerimele.
After graduating from The Rayen School, he served during the Korean War as a Second Class Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy's Air Corps.
He was a Gold Card member of the Bricklayers Local No. 8, working many years with Alec Downie Contracting. Anthony enjoyed cooking and going to Mountaineer and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Ann Beil, whom he married Feb. 6, 1954; his seven sons, Dr. Joseph Michele Karabin, Gregory Ellie Streeky, Thomas Kim Kuzman, James Christine Patton, Richard, Tony and Kenneth Kimberly DePinto; and nine grandchildren, Katie, Jimmy, Jason, Brittany, Allyson, Kayla, Gina, Carmel and Gillian.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Marilyn Cerimele; and a sister, Dorothy Dom Massaro.
The family has requested that material tributes be made to St. Columba Parrish in Anthony's memory.
