CHANTILLY, VA - Prayers will begin Friday at 9:15 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic Church, for Anthony M. Ferlaino, Jr., 49, who died Friday, April 4, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.
Anthony was born August 28, 1964 in East Liverpool, OH, the son of the late Anthony M. Ferlaino Sr. and late Anna Ferlaino.
Anthony graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree and from The George Washington University with a Master of Science Engineering Management degree. Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed woodworking, but his greatest joy was spending time with family which included 10 nieces and nephews.
Anthony is survived by his wife, the former Sharon Popovich, whom he married Aug. 1, 1992; sister, Toni Dean of Poland; niece, Melanie (Brandon) Becher of Columbus; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded by his sister, Marina Ferlaino.
Family will receive guests on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.
