Sebring....Funeral Services will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel and 1:00 P.m. in St. Charles Catholic Church for Mrs. Antoinette ?Toni? Catherine Bentfeld age 92 of Copeland Oaks formerly of Carter Circle, Boardman and Outlook Avenue, Youngstown who died Monday evening at Alliance Community Hospital.
Toni was born June 12, 1912 a daughter of Anthony F. and Concetta Zinghini Cua, in Careri, Reggio Calabria, Italy moving to Vandergrift, Pa and then to Campbell in 1922 and to Youngstown in 1942.
She was employed by Mahoning County Welfare Department as a supervisor in the Medicaid Department for 32 years retiring in 1980. She had also worked in the United States Post Office as a postal Service Worker in Campbell and for the State of Ohio as an investigator for the AFA, the AB and the AD Departments and was a member of the church and a past president and member of the Italian American Veterans Auxiliary in the state of Ohio.
Her husband George F. Bentfeld whom she married December 10, 1942 died August 28, 1997.
She leaves a daughter Toni Edward Bentfeld Simas of Fairfield, Conn. 3 sons George F. Debbie of Boardman, Fred Anna Marie of Greer, South Carolina and Richard T. of Greenville, S. Carolina; 5 sisters Mrs. Carolyn Shannon of Boardman, Mrs. Mary Liberati of Youngstown, Mrs. Helen Varone Tony of Las Vegas, Mrs. Rose John Smrecansky of Youngstown and Mrs. Amelia ?Millie?William Sloan of Austintown; 3 brothers Sam Terry Cua of Boardman, Pasquale Lee Cua of Port Charlotte, Fla.and Frank Dolly of Las Vegas; 7 grandchildren Jamie Lynn, Ashley and Lisa Bentfeld, Kristen McClendon, Kara , Kelly and Katie Bentfeld.
She was preceded in death by her husband George a son John J. who was killed serving in Vietnam and a brother Mario Cua.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 ?7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 12:00 ?12:30 on Thursday at the funeral home.
