AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Armand E. DeToro Jr., 64, who passed away suddenly Friday at his home.
Armand was born June 30, 1949, in Youngstown, a son of Armand E. Sr. and Ann (Felice) DeToro.
Armand was a 1967 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and received a bachelors degree in Journalism from Ohio University.
He loved sports and was an avid Notre Dame and Yankees fan. Armand loved golfing, cooking and eating. He especially loved going to Ocean Isle, N.C., with his family.
Armand leaves his wife, the former Lora Bridgen, whom he married April 18, 2009; his mother, Ann DeToro of Canfield; his daughter, Sedra (Sean) Kessman of Las Vegas; stepdaughters, Traci (Matt) Brown of McDonald and Sara (Donald) Fridley of Warren; a stepson, Anthony (fiance Stephanie March) Tamburro of Niles; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Blaine Kessman, Alyssa Bunker, Connor and Madison Brown; sister Maryanne DeToro of Boardman; and numerous cousins who were very dear to him.
Armand was preceded in death by his father, Armand E. DeToro Sr., and his son, Nicholas J. DeToro.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
