AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Friday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church for Arthur E. Prioce age 78 of Austintown, who passed away Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Arthur was born January 3, 1927, in Youngstown the son of John and Alice Jenkins Price, and was later raised by Ernest and Lilah Persing.
He had worked at the general Motors Lordstown Plant as an assembler for over 25 years before retiring in 1993. He had served in the Navy during W.W.II, and was a member of St. Joseph Church.
He was also a member of UAW Local # 1112, and was a former member of the Eagles Aerie # 3298, and the ITAM Club on Meridian Rd. A gifted musician, Arthur had played in numerous bands including the Jimmy Ament, Speedy Matula, and Steve Garchar Bands, and also had his own band the Art Price Band which had recorded in Nashville, He had also had a love for boxing, enjoyed Bingo and Karaoke, and used his skills as a mechanic to repair bikes.
He is survived by his wife, the former Florence M. Geister whom he married July 27, 1957, a daughter Doti Ann Price of Hawaii, four sons Ronald Karen Price of Austintown, John Deanna Price of Canfield, William "Bill" Price, and Robert "Bob" Price both of Austintown, a sister Betty Price of New Middletown, six grandchildren, Jon Anthony, Deanna, Kyle, Billy, and Savannah Price, and Alex O'Dell.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Fry, Peggy Krantz, Grace Greathouse, and three brothers, Donald Price, Howard Price, and Lloyd Wiseman.
The Price family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Humility House in Austintown for their excellent care.
