Augustine "Luke" Massie

Newton Falls- Augustine "Luke" Massie, age 89, passed away Friday morning at his daughters home surrounded by his family.

Luke was born March 12, 1918 in Youngstown to the late Alexander and Anna Drap Massie.

He was self employed owning Luke's Parking on Commerce Street in Youngstown.

He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre earning four Bronze Stars in the Philippines.

Luke was a gardener and animal lover. He also enjoyed attending flea markets; and spending time with his son-in-law Bob.

Luke is survived by a daughter, Kathy Bob Horvath of Newton Falls, two sons, Richard Massie of Florida, and David Massie of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Dane, Jason, Bob, Erica, and Angela and three great grandchildren; a brother, Alexander Massie of Poland.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives, Lillian and Ellen, granddaughter Angel, three brothers, Joseph, John, and Daniel.

A private military service will be held honoring Luke?s memory.
