MONROEVILLE, PA. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Church, officiated by the Rev. Bernard M. Timothy O.P., preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, for Mrs. Barbara A. Heckel Miller, 81, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away at Independence Court Assisted Living in Monroeville.
Mrs. Miller was born on Dec. 23, 1934, in Youngstown, the only daughter of Edgar and Mildred (Weber) Heckel.
She was a lifelong Catholic, and was a member of St. Dominic's Church in Youngstown, and most recently, St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers.
She worked for Youngstown State University in the Custodial Department.
Barbara's loving husband of 30 years, Ted P. Miller, whom she married on Aug. 1, 1953, died May 22, 1984.
Left to cherish their wonderful memories are Barbara's five children, Tim Miller of Struthers, Ted "Pat" (Mickey) of White Oak, Pa., Terry (Jane) Miller of Virginia, Brian (Sue) Miller of Poland, and Nancy (Cher Pavlik) of Cuyahoga Falls; and eight grandchildren, Amanda, Timmy, Sean, Amber, TJ, Patrick, Mackenzie, and Haley.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mildred; and her husband, Ted.
Following the Mass, interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
