BOARDMAN - A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Mrs. Beatrice Canton Hotchkiss, 92, who died Saturday morning at Sunrise of Poland.
She was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Youngstown, a daughter of Arthur and Beatrice (Minear) Deckant.
Beatrice was a homemaker and was a past member of the Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church and the Christ United Presbyterian Church.
She volunteered with the Catholic Service league, was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3298 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Mears No. 3930 Ladies Auxiliary.
Beatrice cherished her friendships that she had with her close friends. She loved to dance, especially line dancing.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her first husband, L. Scott Canton, whom she married April 14, 1944, and who died Jan. 2, 1987; her second husband, William Hotchkiss, whom she married Jan. 9, 1988, and who died Jan. 14, 1995; her dear friend, Emilio DiCianno; and her brother, Arthur C. Deckant.
She leaves her nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends.
