Benita Palovich

March 5, 1949 — May 30, 2015

MCDONALD - Benita J. Palovich, 66, passed away Saturday at the Cleveland Clinic.

Benita was born March 5, 1949, a daughter of the late Russell and Kay (Kaster) Flask.

She was a 1967 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and then received an LPN degree, spending her career in the medical field.

Benita was the epitome of self-made and self-taught. She made curtains and cookies, stenciled rooms, canned tomatoes, and caught fish. She was deeply loyal and giving to those closest to her, and respected for her endless work ethic, no-nonsense demeanor, and sense of humor.

She was a devoted wife, marrying Gregory Palovich Sr., on March 10, 1970. He was her closest friend and partner in crime for 45 happy years. She also leaves behind a daughter, Nicole (Michael) Lonergan of Boston; a son, Gregory A. Palovich II of Concord; three beloved grandchildren, Cody, Kyle and Cain; two sisters, Roslyn Lea of Conway, S.C. and Michael Ann (Albert) LaLama of Tuscon, Ariz.; and five nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Material tributes may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
