Benjamin Dodds

POLAND-Services will be Monday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church for Benjamin F. Dodds age 79 of Elmland Ave. Who passed away Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth E.R. Boardman after being stricken at his home. Mr. Dodds was born August 27, 1924, in Franklin, Pa., the son of Benjamin F. and Marian P. Lees Dodds he came to this area in 1946. He had worked as an art teacher for the Youngstown Board of Education for over 35 years retiring from North High School in 1985. He was a W.W. Army Air Corps Veteran, received his Bachelors Degree from Youngstown College, and his Masters Degree from Westminster College. He was a member of Holy Family Church, a 3rd degree member of the Poland Council of the Knights of Columbus #4471, and a 4th degree member of the Bishop Malone Assembly # 274. He was also a member of the Youngstown, Ohio, and National Education Associations, and the Mahoning and Ohio retired teachers Associations. His wife the former Nancy A. Adornato whom he married June 25, 1949, died February 13, 2001. He is survived by two sons Randy G. Camm Dodds retired Luitenent Colnal U.S. Army of Portland, Oregon, and Scott M. Dodds of Poland, two brothers, Gene Dodds, and Robert Dodds both of California, and two grandsons Ethan and Jared Dodds of Portland, Oregon.
