Bethel Lynch

Austintown - There will be services Monday at 10:15 AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church in Mineral Ridge for Bethel Mae Chalker Lynch, 84, who passed away early Friday morning at The Cleveland Clinic.

Bethel was born April 13, 1922 in Southington, Ohio a daughter of Floyd Orlando and Lucy Mae Robinson Chalker.

Bethel was a secretary for Packard Electric for 10 years until taking the time to raise her family. She retired in 1950 to raise her family. From 1975 to 1995 she was employed by the Austintown Board of Education as a custodian at Austintown Middle School. She was a faithful volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 12 years. She was active in the PTA in Austintown. She bowled in Wednesday Ladies League at Wedgewood Lanes. She attended the Mahoning County Daycare Center where she enjoyed crafts and had recieved ribbons at the Canfield Fair for her works of art. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and their Woman's Guild. She traveled with the Golden Voyagers all over the country. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, and was one of the Cleveland Indians #1 fans.

Her husband Edward James Lynch whom she married September 27, 1947 passed away June 17, 1972.

Bethel is survived by two daughters Darlene Larry Martin of Girard, and Patricia Lynch with whom she made her home; a son James E. Rebecca Lynch of Diamond, Ohio; two sisters Audrey A. Stanford of Southington, Ohio and Gladys Swartze of Summertown, TN; a brother Blaine Betty Chalker of Parkman, Ohio; two grandchildren Pamala Dave Hover, and Paula Don Welliver; three great grandchildren Christopher Hover, Jason Welliver, and Jordan Welliver; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister Ruth Kyle and a brother Rev. Wayne Chalker.

Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Family requests that material tributes take the form of donation to St. Mary's Church.
