ESTERO, FLA. - "It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Jean Burns, 91, on July 5, 2015."
Betty and her husband of 69 years, Robert E. Burns, were formerly of Canfield.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian (Potts) Williams.
She graduated from South High School in 1942.
She married "Bob" in 1946, and was an active member of the choir at St. Christine Church in Youngstown and Our Lady of Light in Estero. Her greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her son, James R. Burns; grandchildren Renee E. Romito, Jason R. Burns, Lisa R. Burns Phillips and Justin R. Burns; sister Evelyn Prince; and brother David Williams.
She is survived by her husband and children, Jerry Burns (Charlene) of Natchez, La., Robin J. Romito of Youngstown, and Kevin R. Burns of Boardman; sister Barbara Saunders of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
