Betty Hatfield

AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the West Austintown First United Methodist Church for Betty A. Hatfield, 79, who passed away Tuesday morning at Hospice House.
Betty was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Phineas and Elizabeth (Nallan) Jones.
Betty was a 1952 graduate of Chaney High School. She did catering with Mr. B's for 25 years.
For eight years, Betty volunteered her time at with Hospice of the Valley, visiting homes, nursing homes and Hospice House. She was a very active member of the West Austintown First United Methodist Church and their choir. Betty was head chair of the church's missions. She enjoyed water aerobics and was a member of the Meander Women's Golf League.
Betty leaves her husband of 60 years, Ken Hatfield, whom he married Dec. 24, 1953; her two daughters, Jackelyn (Robert) Judy of Austintown and Cheryl Nagle of Austintown; four grandchildren, Nicole (Greg) Judy-Kerr, Melissa (Jody) Myers, Todd (Beth) Judy, and Kirsten (Mike) Nagle; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kalib, Gabby, and Aiden.
Betty was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Lefler.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to the West Austintown First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Hospice House.
Betty's family would like to thank all the staff at Hospice House for all of their wonderful care.
