Austintown - Services will be held 10:00AM Saturday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Betty "Nuns" Macchio, 81 loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who went to be with the Lord Tuesday with her family by her side.
She was born May 10, 1924 the daughter of the late Bert Sr. and Blanche Davis Boyer.
She lived in the area all of her life. After working at McKenzie Muffler, supporting the war effort during World War II, she went on to work at Esthers Famous Fashions and Canterbury Commons. Above all she was a fulltime homemaker, wife, and mother. As a loving mother and best friend, she made her home with her daugthter. Friends and family will remember special times when she touched their lives with her loving spirit and kind words.
She is now again with her loving husband, Anthony P. Macchio, whom she married March 27, 1943.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bert Boyer Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lana Parson of Austintown, Her son, John Marie Macchio of Canfield, her grandson, Roger Bobbie Jo Parson, her granddaughters, Michell Patrick Gaia, Melissa Timothy Styranec, and great-grandson, Smoochy, 4 sisters, Wanda Schlabaugh, Sarah John Leavens, Shirley Jim Speelman, and Alheita Joe Sheely, along with several nieces and nephews and her loving and faithful dog, Cookie.
