POLAND - Prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, for Betty R. Rajkovich, 79, who passed away early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Betty was born Feb. 24, 1934, in McComas, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Scolostica (Massaroni) Veneri.
Betty graduated from Wilson High School in Beckley, W.Va. She worked at Woodworth United Family Foods in public relations.
She was an avid bowler and book reader. She enjoyed playing cards late at night and going to Music In The Park. Betty also loved her yearly trips to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Her greatest love was for her family.
Her husband, Martin Rajkovich, whom she married Oct. 3, 1953, passed away Sept. 2, 2010.
Betty leaves her daughter, Kimberly (Mark) Telford of Poland; her son, Mark (Jolene) Rajkovich of North Benton; four grandchildren, Weston Rajkovich, Nick and Steve Bartolone, all of Columbus and Amanda Seever of Boise, Idaho; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Bucchi of W.Va.; and her extended family, Evie Haynam, Jeanette Luedthe, Angelo Goegan and Sheryl (Steve) Bartolone.
Betty was also preceded in death by her daughter Sebrina Nicholson, son Nicholas Rajkovich, four sisters, Mary Goegan, Clara DelPuppo, Bianca and Adelgesia Veneri; and seven brothers, Tony, Daniel, Frosty, Albert, Emeilio, Pete, and Paul Veneri.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to the Holy Family Church.
Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery.
