POLAND - Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, for Billie Diane Wetzel, 87, who passed away Friday evening at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Billie was born June 21, 1931, in Butler, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary (Chapman) Baldauff.
Billie graduated from Butler High School. She was a member of Holy Family Church, where she was a past member of the Altar Guild.
She devoted her life to raising her children and taking care of her family.
Billie was a member and past president of Kent State Mother’s Club. She enjoyed reading, cooking and playing cards, especially bridge.
Her husband, James W. Wetzel Sr., whom she married Sept. 1, 1952, passed away Dec. 22, 2003.
Billie leaves her six children, James W. (Ivan Monclova) Wetzel Jr. of New York City, Cathy (Daral) Brett of Poland, Carol (Chris) Law of Tallmadge, Cindy Simerlink of Poland, Christy (Joe) Modzelewski of Lexington, S.C., and Jack Wetzel of Poland; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Patrik Baldauff of New York City and James Baldauff of Butler, Pa.
Billie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Marie Wetzel, and a brother, Michael Baldauff.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
