CANFIELD - Funeral Services celebrating the life of Mr. Bradley "Brad" Dean Kollar, 47, who passed away suddenly Wednesday morning at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, will be held Monday at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Peter Totleben, O.P., at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
Mr. Kollar, affectionately known as Brad, will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him for being the most wonderful husband, father, son and brother that any family could ever ask for. His work ethic and reliability will be carried on by his three sons, who loved their dad more than anything.
Brad was born in Youngstown on Jan. 15, 1969, son of Robert "Bob" and Jean Handel Kollar, and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Canfield High School in 1987, where he met his high school sweetheart, Lorie Shugart. Brad and Lorie dated throughout high school, and he instantly swept her off her feet with his big heart, corny jokes, and laugh that everyone will miss so much. Although the odds were against them, Brad and Lorie became Mr. and Mrs. Brad Kollar on May 18, 1991, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canfield.
Brad was a machinist by trade, and had currently worked for RTI International, doing sonic testing. He had been with RTI for 10 years up to his unexpected passing.
Besides his family, who was the most important thing to him, Brad enjoyed watching football, especially his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Woodworking was also a big passion of Brad's. He recently remodeled his kitchen and built a beautiful deck around his pool. One year for Christmas, Brad built everyone in the family a wooden Christmas tree. Those trees that he worked so hard on will now be precious items of remembrance for everyone who received them.
Brad also loved to play cornhole and float in his pool while drinking an ice cold beer after a hard days work. Most importantly, Brad loved family more than anything, especially their family gatherings, much like the one they just had, where he seemed so happy to be in the company of all those he loved.
Brad leaves to carry on his infectious smile, his parents, Robert and Jean Kollar; his loving wife, the former Lorie Shugart; and his three sons, whom he adored, Corey, Troy, and Chad Kollar, all at home.
Also left behind to lovingly remember him. are his three siblings, Jim (Greg) Kollar of Parma, Jeff (Beth) Kollar of Boardman, and Tina (Bob) Zwicker of Canfield; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Vera Shugart; four sisters-in-law, Cindy, Arlene, Nancy, and Vera; brother-in-law Billy; numerous nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Max.
Brad was preceded in death by his son, Spencer Kollar and grandma Helen "Nan" Egolf.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place following the service at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown. - See more at: http://www.vindy.com/news/tributes/2016/sep/10/#sthash.EBVS8DCy.dpuf
