Bruce William Dolfi, 54
AUSTINTOWN Bruce William Dolfi, 54, died Thursday, August 23, at Forum
Health Northside Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bruce was born Sept. 8, 1952 in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of Samuel B. and
Dorothy Jarvis Dolfi.
He was a 1970 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. In 1974 he graduated
from Ohio University and the Youngstown Hospital Association School of
Medical Technology. He was a medical technologist certified by American
Society of Clinical Pathologists.
After graduation he accepted a position with Northside Medical Center.
Bruce was the head medical technologist/specialist in the
RIA/Electrophoresis section of the clinical laboratory. He was responsible
for the implementation of new equipment, training of students and day to day
operations of the department. His fellow employees were a second family to
him and everyone enjoyed working with him.
Bruce loved to vacation in Las Vegas and traveled there several times a
year. One trip each year he reserved for his parents. His favorite hotel was
Mandalay Bay. Everyone consulted Bruce before they went to Vegas for dining
suggestions and the best shows to see.
Bruce leaves his parents, his brother, Craig Diane Dolfi, a niece, Kaila
Dolfi, and a nephew Chadd Dolfi all of Dillonvale; his good friend, Steve
Varga of North Canton; his Aunt Helen Dolfi and Uncle Donald Shirley
Jarvis of Rayland; and many special cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Elizabeth Lopo
Jarvis and Faustino and Angelina Dolfi.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home,
Austintown Chapel.
Calling hours will also be held Monday at the Wilson Funeral Home in
Dillonvale, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday.
