Bryan Logan

BOARDMAN - Bryan Lee Logan, 64, passed away early Sunday morning at the Hospice House.

Bryan was born March 31, 1947, in Youngstown to the late Martin and Joan Byran Logan.

He was a dedicated workforce professional with the Mahoning County One Stop/ MCTA, a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and Youngstown State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and Lettered on the YSU Swim Team.

Bryan was a member of the Youngstown YMCA Neptune Swim Team. He managed, taught, and coached at the Applewood Swim Club, Logan Swim Club, and the Jewish Community Center. He was an Advisor with Junior Achievement for five years. Bryan also was a Delegate to the Boardman Band & Orchestra Parents Club. He served as a scout master for many years and spent many holidays as Santa Claus for family and friends.

Bryan is survived by his wife, the former Jan-Marie Barkelew, whom he married July 13, 2003; his daughters, Raven Logan, at home and Shannon Brian Ewert of Boardman; his sons, Erik "Roc" Logan of Niles and Joel Barkelew of Austintown; two brothers, Martin F. Logan of Warren and Bryan's twin, Bruce M. Carol Logan of Youngstown; nine grandchildren, Blake, Colton, Cody, Hunter, Ridge Ewert, Alahna and Shaelah Barkelew and Alyssa and Megan Ewert; six nieces and nephews; and a grandniece and nephew.

Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, where the memorial service will be celebrated at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray Bryan's final expenses.
