Bud Holmes

October 20, 1931 — December 30, 2008

Kemah, Texas a�" Bud Holmes passed away at his home on the 30th of December in the company of his loving family.

Born October 20, 1931, he was a long-time resident of Youngstown,
a 1949 graduate of South High School, and a six-year member of the Naval Reserve.

Bud married Lillian Berry in May of 1953 and together they had seven children. In 1987, he retired from the East Ohio Gas Company after 32 years of service.

Over the years, many choirs enjoyed his company, including the St. Patrick's Boys Choir, South High A Cappella Choir, Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Joseph's choirs in Austintown, and the Sheet & Tube Choir.

Bud was a member of the Austintown Meander Eagles Aerie #3298 and bowled with the Sam's Wedge Inn team for many years.

Along with his wife Lillian, Bud leaves his seven children, Colleen Hendel Dale, Kathleen Rouser Ron, George III Laura, Mary "Peach" Green Bill, Dennis Ann, Edward, and James; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Thompson and Sally Cassidy; and a brother, Edward "Ted" Holmes.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all gifts and donations be sent to St. Patrick's Church in Youngstown or hospice.
