AUSTINTOWN - Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Mr. Carl F. Jordan Jr., 56, who died early Thursday morning at Hospice House.
He was born Dec. 6, 1955, in Youngstown, a son of Carl F. and Francine Chopan Jordan Sr., and was the oldest of four siblings.
Carl graduated from Canfield High School and the Mahoning County JVS in 1974. Starting in May of 1974, until present, Carl was the owner/operator of Carl's Towing and Road Service here in Austintown for over 38 years.
Carl was a member of St. Christine's Bowling League, the Austintown F.O.P. No. 126, a Sunday golf league with friends, as well as a former coach and President of Austintown Community Baseball Association.
He leaves his wife, the former Jo Anne Connors, whom he married Oct. 10, 1981; his son, Carl F. Jordan III of Austintown; a stepson, Brian T. Shina of Austintown; two grandchildren, Marissa and Brian Shina of Austintown; as well as many relatives from Hubbard.
Carl also leaves his circle of friends whom introduced him to his two great loves, golf and bowling, Emil, Bob, Dave, Tom, Larry, Mitch, Ed, Bill and many more.
Growing up, he had his friends that stand here, still by his side today. Terry Rusu, Ed Holcomb, Sonny Delmont, and Tom Heinz, as well as many new friends he met along his journey through life, including Terry Dominic, Mike Cerimeli, Rusty Pallotta, the entire Austintown Police Department, Fire Department, E.M.T.'s and the residents of the Mahoning Valley, all of which made his company what it is today.
Carl also enjoyed gardening whenever he could and helping everyone he could as long as his health permitted him to do so.
Carl leaves behind his best friend, a four legged dog, always known as "Bud The Dog," as well as a wish for his son "CJ" to continue to run, operate and continue to expand his business, now into the 3rd generation, to serve the people of the Mahoning Valley.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like any donations to be made to a fund to defray medical and final expenses after Carl's hard fought battle with lung cancer in care of the funeral home.
