BOARDMAN There will be services Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Church, for Carl W. Ohlin Sr., 72, who passed away suddenly Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Carl was born Aug. 11, 1934 in New Castle, Pa., a son of Joseph and Betty Emery Ohlin.
Carl was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the Carpenters Union Local 171. He was a lifetime member of the Bessemer Croatian Club, and a member of St. Charles Church. He loved working outdoors, reading, and listening to polkas. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, most especially his beloved granddaughter, Olivia Rose.
Carl leaves his wife, the former Mary Ann Doricich, whom he married Aug. 31, 1957; a daughter, Brenda John Donadee of North Lima; a son, Carl ³Bill²Monica Ohlin Jr. of Poland; a sister, Betsy Ratliff of Roanoke, Va.; three brothers, Joseph ³Larry² Ohlin and George Ohlin, both of Warren and Paul Ohlin of Battle Creek, Mich.; and a granddaughter, Olivia Rose Donadee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Greta Gurgacz.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
