Carol Duvall

CANFIELD — Carol A. Duvall, 81, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022.

She was born June 23, 1940, in Youngstown, a daughter of James and Helen Gaytko Degli-Uomini.

Carol was a 1958 graduate of Chaney High School and a 1962 graduate of Ohio Northern University, where she studied pharmacy. She became one of the first female pharmacists in the area and worked at various local pharmacies, paving the way for other local women in the field.

She enjoyed opera and classical music and was constantly learning new things. She was a sharp-witted, intelligent and funny woman who will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Duvall, whom she married May 16, 1964; daughter, Christine Duvall of Austintown; son, James (Colleen) Duvall, of Bainbridge; sister, Sally (Jack) Hauber, of Gaithersburg, Md.; grandchildren, Thomas and Nicole Duvall; and nieces, Lisa and Jennifer Holland.

Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
