YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Saturday at 8:45 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, for Carol J. Wofton, 81, who died Tuesday morning at Hospice House, surrounded by her family.
Carol was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Youngstown, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Leone) Constantine Sr.
She was a graduate of The Rayen School and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Carol worked for K-Mart, and ended her 30-year career as an assistant store manager. After retiring in 1997, she worked for Italian Specialties in Cornersburg for eight years.
Carol enjoyed playing bingo and vacationing in Las Vegas and Florida. Her greatest passion was cooking, and she was always sending food to family and friends.
Carol's husband, Albert C. Wofton, whom she married April 24, 1953, died April 2, 1996.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Fred) Razavi of Columbus, Joy (James) DeCapita of Boardman, and Kimberly Wofton of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Eric, Nicholas and Austin Razavi, and Ian and Ciera (fiancé Antonio Melia) DeCapita; and her loving companion, her dog, Rudy.
Carol was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles "Chuck" Wofton; two brothers, Lawrence and Louis Jr. Constantine; and a sister, Eleanor Merletti.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Chris Knight at the Hope Center, Dr. Sean McGrath, Dr. Joseph Ambrose and the entire staff at Hospice House.
