POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Church, preceded by prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, for Carolyn M. DeBlasio, 89, who died Sunday afternoon at her residence.
Carolyn was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Youngstown, to the late Piotro and Valentina Dambrogio Ramunno.
She was a member of the Holy Family Church and a 1939 graduate of the Campbell Memorial High School. Carolyn worked at Optical One, Inc. for 24 years as an optical worker, retiring in 2008.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vito J. DeBlasio, whom she married May 10, 1952; he died Jan. 12, 1984; her six brothers, Michael, James, Joseph, Albert, Carl, and Quentin Ramunno; and a sister, Rose Garasky.
Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Vito R. DeBlasio, with whom she made her home, and Edward DeBlasio and his wife, Jenise of Poland; a brother, Anthony Ramunno of Campbell; two granddaughters, Carolyn L. Daniel and Kelly Tobias; three great-grandchildren, Carter Daniel, Madelyn Tobias, and Victoria Tobias; and nine nieces and nephews.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
