Carolyn Prosser

BOARDMAN ­ Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 7345 Westview Drive in Boardman, for Mrs. Carolyn ³Carol² Prosser, 75, who died Monday evening at Shepherd of the Valley.

She was born June 18, 1933 in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles J. and Margaret Abel McCrudden.

Carol was a graduate of Rosemont College in Philadelphia. She was a social worker and had worked for the American Red Cross. She was the director of Youth Services and also the director of the Florence Crittenden Home for
unwed mothers.She was a professional photographer for Prosser Yosay Photography, as well as the co-owner. She was a member of the church and its Ladies Guild, the Catholic Collegiate, The Junior League of Youngstown and was a past vice president of the league. She sat on the Board of Directors of the Children¹s Theater, the Beatitude House and the Retired Senior Volunteer program. Carol¹s most treasured moments were with her family, especially her grandchildren, the many summers at The Chautauqua Institute in New York. She loved music, opera and sailing.

Carol leaves her husband, Philip J. Prosser; a daughter, Margaret ³Peggy² Prosser Brown and her husband, David of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Philip J. Prosser Jr. and his wife, Dr. Maria Madden Prosser of Chardon; a sister, Marianne Walters of Warren; a brother, Charles J. Jr. and his wife, Barbara McCrudden of Boardman; and four grandchildren, Carolyn, Catherine and Christopher Brown and Agnes Prosser.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Elizabeth McCardell and Margaret McCrudden.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Arun Blecher and Dr. Maria Madden Prosser for their dedication and compassion that they gave Carol and her family during this time.
