POLAND - Prayers will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m.at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, for Catherine M. Fedigan, 72, formerly of Slippery Rock, Pa., who died unexpectedly Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Heath Center in Youngstown.
Catherine was born May 8, 1943, in Youngstown, the daughter of Gustav and Mary Agnes (Nesselrode) Markstrom.
She graduated high school in West Virginia and was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family.
Catherine was a very active member of the Holy Family Church .
She is survived by her husband, John Fedigan, whom she married Aug. 20, 1965; two daughters, Stacey (Derek) Norris of Poland and Cristy (Scott) Smith of Poland; four sisters, Barbara Contestible of St. Louis, Mo., Denise Peterson of Columbus, Pam Hawkins of Austintown and Peggy Reese of Maryland; and seven grandchildren, Zachary, Sydney, Riley-Jo and Josey Norris, and Katelyn, Matthew and Cassidy Smith.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marilyn McDonald.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
