YOUNGSTOWN - Committal services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m at Calvary Cemetery Chapel for Catherine G. Galster, 100, who passed away Jan. 13, 2012, at Omni Manor.
Catherine was born June 26, 1911, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late James and Catherine and Catherine McAtter Zimmerman.
Catherine was a member of St. Brendan Church and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ladies of Charity.
Her husband, Jacob Galster, whom she married in August of 1942, passed in August of 1969.
Catherine leaves a son, Robert A. Galster of Mineral Ridge; a sister, Nora Johnson of Palm Dale, Fla.; two grandchildren, Ryan Galster of Austintown and Glynn Ann Nathan Stevens of Waynes Center; and three great-grandchildren.
Catherine was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Stuart and three brothers James, Hugh, and Harry Zimmerman.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
