NEW MIDDLETOWN - Services will be Saturday morning, at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Catherine Colwes Miller, who died Wednesday at Select Specialty Hospital at St. Elizabeth Health Center from complications from injuries sustained in an automobile accident seven weeks ago.
Catherine was born Nov. 12, 1948, in Youngstown, the daughter of James R. and Flora Smith Colwes.
She was a 1966 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, where she was a member of the marching band and orchestra, and also played in the Warren Junior Military Band.
Cathy was employed at Union National Bank and several years later at Barret Cadillac until its closing. Cathy also loved to dance and enjoyed old movies, her knowledge of classic film and performers was outstanding.
Cathy's husband of 43 years Kenneth R. Miller, from Pittsburgh, died in 2004.
She is survived by her mother, Flora Colwes of North Lima; a sister, Jamie Colwes Willard Tucker of Youngstown; and a brother, James Mary Darlene Colwes of Ringgold, Ga. She was very close to her nieces and nephews, Mike, Andrew and Amy Kosmo of Youngstown and James R. Colwes III, Amanda Teasley and Kristy Thurman of Ringgold.
