Chagrin Falls - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Rd. Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023, for Catherine M. Volk, age 92, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Tuesday at her home.
Catherine was born July 14, 1915 in Youngstown, the daughter of Mike and Anna Spelic Pavlakovich.
Catherine was a shipper for Workingmen's Overal in Youngstown for over 25 years. She was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was currently a member of the Church of the Holy Angels in Chagrin Falls. She took care of her mother for many years. Catherine also enjoyed cooking.
Her husband Joseph A Volk whom she married November 24, 1955, passed away May 3, 1995.
Catherine leaves two daughters Mary Kay Jim Domo with whom she made her home in Chagrin Falls and Jo Anne Scott Arens of San Diego, California; and six grandchildren Joseph, Mary and Josh Domo, Jennifer Milne, and Karina and Victoria Arens.
Besides her parents and husband, Catherine is preceded in death by two sisters Barbara Zatchok and Mary Kovalchik and two brothers Michael Pavlick and George Pavlokovich.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel 4303 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44515 and on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at the Church of the Holy Angels in Chagrin Falls.
The family requests material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of Care Corp. 831 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
